is Shipwrecked
Acts
27
****
So,
when the wind was right, they started on their journey.
When the wind was right for sailing, they started on their
journey.
Soon afterward, the ship was caught in a fierce and violent wind
called Euroclydon, which means "a strong winter wind".
The wind blew and beat on the ship, try as they might, the crew
could not control it. All they could do was try to keep the ship afloat
and drift with the storm.
The men began to be worried and scared but despite their fears,
the crew continued their work to help the ship make it through the
storm:
First they struggled to pull up the small boat which they usually
pulled behind the ship.
Secondly, they took ropes and wrapped them around the ship to
strengthen it against the pounding of the waves.
Third – and most importantly – they threw over the side of the
ship all the things they didn’t need so the ship would be lighter and
float better.
